About Us
Founded by live music and entertainment professionals in September 2017, the venue is a proud host to a variety of concerts, company parties, technology summits, movie nights, DJ sets, corporate events, cabarets, swing and salsa dance competitions.
After leading a series of international live performances of Bulgarian rock bands and theater actors in Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia the founding members decided to establish a place for live shows locally in Bulgaria to promote diverse cultural, musical and theatrical performances. City Stage has since hosted an impressive variety of musical, social, corporate and educational events contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Bulgaria’s capital city.

Venue
Space
City Stage boasts a generous 800 square meter space (8,600 square feet) of dance floor and viewing areas. The combined total area is 1,500 square meters (16,000 sq ft), including auxiliary facilities, kitchen, office space, changing rooms and band rooms, making it one of the largest professional event venues in Sofia, Bulgaria.
We have a main stage, complemented by a video wall, and secondary stage in the adjacent space, that can make for a phenomenal experience in non-stop fashion during band change overs. We’ve done this in the past and had a blast changing artists and styles on two separate stages.
Depending on the occasion and audience size space can be sectioned off into two or three different areas with heavy blackout drapes, creating a more intimate atmosphere for improv performances, book presentations or smaller acoustic shows.
They can be booked separately and kept private for the duration of the event. Both areas are serviced by full bars offering a rich selection of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. Catering services are available upon request and we can work with you craft a delicious menu of snacks, bites, tapas or cooked dinner choices.
Venue Capacity
Standing room capacity of the entire place is 1,000 people and seating room capacity is 400 people.
We can scale seating capacity to accommodate demand for your special event from 50 to 200 to 300 people, or as needed, and we can additionally partner up with our sister venue next door to accommodate up to 1,400 people in standing room.
Staff
We have a full mix of top notch professionals who love what they do and are delightful to work with. We can help you scale your team to staff the folks you need, depending on the size and duration of your event. In general, we are able to secure kitchen chefs, waiters, bartenders, security guards, ticket checkers, greeters and ushers, coat check clerks, booking managers, event managers, as well as technical staff to manage video, sound and light systems.
Event Management Services
Our professional event managers can help with event scheduling, pricing and design, venue availability and booking arrangements, contract negotiation, event staffing, contractor coordination for your interior design and decoration needs, hotel accommodation and menu selection.
While we haven’t yet had to make sure “there’s no brown M&M’s backstage” for Van Halen’s David Lee Roth, we sure place a lot of attention and care in every single event, company, band or solo performer, that we host. We have years of industry experience in meeting complex client requirements and even if you miss some we’ll be sure to remind you, so your band and your audience have a great time and you’re in good hands.
Amenities
Backstage
One of the favorite features of City Stage for many bands and performers is the backstage corridor granting private access to the main stage. Bands love the privacy of the backstage dressing and band rooms, as well as the convenience of mens and womens showers and restrooms, also backstage.
Technical Equipment and Facilities
Our main stage is equipped with a video wall and both stages are setup with a custom design lighting system. Our industry grade sound system ensures both the band and the audience can have an enjoyable music experience, with the support of a production sound mixer in a dedicated room facing both stages. Presentation audio and video equipment can be provided upon request, as well as projectors and microphones. The venue is equipped with an air conditioning system for the spring and summer seasons and central heating for the winter months. We do offer coat check for the extra comfort of your guests.
Kitchen
Our restaurant grade kitchen is equipped with industry standard appliances and can be used either by your own chefs or those we staff or you, if need be. We have a choice of menu items that work well for certain events and can share them with you when designing the menu for your next event.
